Karel Appel (Amsterdam, 1921 – Zürich, 2006) — Original Colour Lithograph, Hors Commerce

A vibrant and fully hand-signed original colour lithograph by Karel Appel — one of the most important European artists of the 20th century and a founding member of the legendary CoBrA movement (Copenhagen, Brussels, Amsterdam, 1948).
The composition is a tour de force of Appel's signature style: explosive, joyful colour — teal, green, orange, red, pink — combined with bold black gestural drawing, evoking figures, creatures and forms with the raw energy and childlike freedom that defined CoBrA's revolutionary aesthetic. A collage-like painted image occupies the upper portion, while a freely drawn line figure — characteristic of Appel's graphic work — inhabits the lower register.
Of exceptional importance, this is not a standard numbered edition print. The inscription reads in pencil: "H.C. / Exemplaire pour F.B." — Hors Commerce (outside the commercial edition), a personal dedication copy gifted by the artist to an individual identified as "F.B."
