An exceptional and highly decorative matched pair of luxury Bohemian glass pieces by Ludwig Moser & Sons, one of Europe’s most prestigious glass manufacturers, historically known as “The King of Glass”. Dating to the 1920s, this elegant duo showcases Moser’s celebrated craftsmanship in richly coloured “Saphir” cobalt blue glass, combined with elaborate neoclassical gilt decoration.
Both pieces are executed in finely hand-cut crystal with deep faceting that enhances the brilliance and depth of the intense sapphire-blue body. Around the widest section of each form runs a spectacular acid-etched and gilded classical frieze, depicting detailed mythological scenes including warriors, hunters, nymphs, animals, and stylised foliage. The figures are rendered in continuous narrative form, reminiscent of ancient Greek and Roman relief sculpture, and finished in richly applied gold that contrasts beautifully against the deep cobalt ground.
The decoration demonstrates Moser’s renowned technical mastery — the raised gilding and precise etching create a striking sense of depth and movement, making the friezes appear almost sculptural. Combined with the sharp geometric cutting of the crystal, the pieces achieve a perfect balance between classical ornamentation and early 20th-century decorative luxury.

A tall ceremonial goblet with faceted octagonal base and stem, supporting a wide flared bowl. The upper section is wrapped in a richly detailed gilt frieze featuring a dynamic hunting or Bacchic scene with figures, animals, and classical motifs.
